Laura Lanni is a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor through the American Council on Exercise. She is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. She is a certified teacher through the Rhode Island Department of Education and a member of Psi Chi, the International Honors Society in Psychology.
At age 18 she was classified as “morbidly obese.” Since 2002, Laura has lost 75 pounds and maintained her weight loss with the help of fitness classes like Zumba® Fitness, combined with strength training and healthy eating.
In 2009, Laura decided to turn her struggles into success. She became licensed in Zumba® Fitness and began teaching her own classes. Teaching Zumba® classes helped her realized her true passion in life, helping people reach their fitness and health goals. She uses her education and personal experiences to enlighten people of all ages and teach them the importance of eating well and exercising often. She currently works at Rhode Island’s BEST Fitness Center, Body Complete Fitness, where she leads Nutrition Seminars and offers personal nutrition coaching and personal training. She also teaches group exercise classes including Zumba® Fitness and The Booty Barre®. She works closely with The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation and is strongly involved in her community.
